BIOLOGIST NATALIA BARRANTES

17 years of experience in facilitating healthy interrelationships between human activities and natural ecosystems. Through environmental management, environmental interpretation, and the implementation of environmental initiatives between the civil sector, business, academia and local governments.

Bachelor's Degree in Biology with emphasis in Environmental Interpretation, Master's Degree in Environmental Management and Ecotourism.

Natalia has been teaching at the University of Costa Rica since 2011, in the School of Biology and the School of General Studies. She has worked in the tourism sector since 2006 as an environmental interpreter guide and tourism program designer.

She was Coordinator of the Environmental Management Department of the Municipality of Escazú, where she acquired experience in urban territorial management, environmental monitoring and implementation of community environmental programs.

In 2010 Verde Sentir was founded as an alternative to support projects through Environmental Management and Environmental Interpretation.

Her experience in the academic, private, public and community sectors has led her to have a systemic understanding of environmental management and she uses her knowledge to inspire positive forms of development between projects and the environment.

It combines its knowledge of nature with communication and management tools to promote a positive impact on both host communities and ecosystems.

ARCHITECT FELIPE BARRANTES

Architect and landscape architect whose main interest is the interaction between people and the environment through the built environment. He has developed landscape planning projects, master plans, architectural design and construction. His academic work has to do with participatory processes and landscape co-design.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL LAWYER EUGENIA WONG

 30 years of experience designing environmental projects and policies in Costa Rica and Latin America. He has carried out projects on biodiversity, forests, fisheries, environmental services, climate change, gender, and indigenous peoples. Working on the development of institutional and political legal framework; participation of civil society, private sector, development of environmental indicators, monitoring and evaluation.

BIOLOGIST ALEJANDRO QUESADA

Specialist in Environmental Interpretation and Ornithology. He works with community sectors in water conservation and with the coffee sector to promote good environmental practices. In addition to participatory biological monitoring, where he inspires visitors to participate in conservation.

BIOLOGIST ASHLEY WROE

Her goal is to work for the integral wellbeing of life. In addition to her degree in Environmental Interpretation, she has studies in Education for Sustainable Development and Responsible Management for the Environment. She has experience in teaching Environmental Education programs such as Aula en el Bosque for the Municipality of Belen.

BIOLOGIST PAOLA UMAÑA

She is a rural woman passionate about nature who loves to generate synergies between people, which has led her through the path of Biology and Environmental Interpretation, towards Environmental Management and Community Education. She is a community leader who has worked with public institutions and NGOs in projects where the protection of ecosystems, regeneration of the territory, good environmental practices and the good living of the communities converge.
